Beauty acupuncture - facial rejuvenation using the pampering techniques of facial acupuncture.

What does it do?

The treatments are designed to increase the circulation of energy, blood and lymph around the face and body. This results in the stimulation of collagen growth, supporting and strengthening the facial muscles, and enlivening the complexion.

The whole energy balance of the body can be affected so it is an external and internal treatment.  The side effects can be; reduction of stress and muscle tension, sinus and lymph decongestion and thus lessening of acne, fewer headaches, improved digestion with better appetite and improved metabolism, more energy and improved sleeping pattern and a general feeling of well-being.

What does it entail?

Very fine needles (thinner than a hair) are inserted in the face and body. While, and after, the needles work their ‘magic’ your face, hands and feet are massaged with aromatic essential oils using reflexology and gentle relaxing techniques. This aims to enhance the feeling of complete calm that the treatment is intended to create.

Treatments are twice per week for 5 to 6 weeks. Each treatment takes two hours.  Follow-up sessions involving one or two treatments after 3 months are advised.

Cost:  £2000 for the course,  £1000 in advance as a non-returnable deposit.

This treatment is unsuitable to anyone who smokes; the action of smoking will undo all the work done.

An hour's consultation to be undertaken before any treatment is commenced, cost £30.

Is it Safe?

This practitioner uses fresh needles for each treatment and there is therefore no risk of disease transmission. The treatment itself is considered safe although, as with all therapies, certain contra-indications can exist. Therefore acupuncture may not be suitable for all patients, Rosemary will, of course, advise you if this is the case and suggest other treatments.
